So much stupidity in one place.

Let's just take habeas. Lincoln suspended habeas properly. The Constitution specifically says when Habeas can be suspended - in times of war or rebellion. The Constitution is not clear who can suspend it.

Lincoln suspended it when the war started, and as soon as Congress reconviened, he got permission from them.

Furthermore, Lincoln was infinately more gracious and moderate on suspension of habeas than the South.

The South had been violently suppressing free spreech for 40 years. They already were a totalitarian, violent and despotic nation, that had taken over the Southern US by violence and terror. Forget enslaving millions, the Southern leaders tortured those WHITE people who would dare speak out, or dare own a book the Southern government didnt approve of, or preach a sermon the government didn't like.

Preachers were arrested, ships were searched, mail was searched -- not during war, but during decades of PEACE.

The South bitterly complains about Lincoln -- when the South had been violently attacking the North, and had actually made war on the US by the time Lincoln did anything. So for the South to scream about Lincoln suspending habeas is like Japan blaming the US for shooting back at Pearl Harbor. It's idiotic.

Learn some real history.

As far as Lincoln approving slavery in the South -- nonsense. Llincoln was very willing to let the South keep raping their slaves, torturing the women and children, and burning to death men who resisted slavery, only beccause he could not stop them . There was no military means, no will, no legal right to do it.

Lincoln did say slave owners should be kicked to death -- not just to unconsciousness, but kicked to death. But he had no right to do that.

Lincoln could only see one way to end slavery -- keep it stuffed down the throat of the scum sucking pigs also knows as Southern Leaders. Slavery was a cancer, he knew it, and the South knew it.

The South wanted to deal with their cancer of slavery by SPREADING it. Lincoln said no, keep it there, choke on it.

The South had been violently trying to spread slavery for 40 years.

Go read the Ultimatums by the South just before the Civil War. All five ultimatums were about slavery. The first one -- to spread slavery. The South demanded Lincoln and the North spread slavery into the territories, and not make any laws about slavery in their own states.

Kansas had just voted AGAINST slavery 98% to 2%. And Kansas kicked out the Southern thugs and murderers sent to shove slavery down the throat of Kansas. But the FIRST thing the South demands, under threat of war -- was that Lincoln force slavery into the territories by force.

That would be like HItler issuing an Ultimatum that the US attack England, or Germany would attack US.

Of course LIncoln was not going to force slavery by violencce into the territories. But that is what the South demanded under threat of war. That is how insane the South was.
